Official: The P1 does sub-7m at the Green Hell

The time we have been waiting is nearly come. After a lot of testing and spy footages of the P1 around the Nürburgring, McLaren has shown their first official video regarding the attempt to break the 7 minutes barrier. They did it! But sadly, that's all we know. The lap time that McLaren has set to beat is 6:57 minutes belonging to the Porsche 918 Spyder. Now the questions is.. is the P1, faster than the 918?

GT-R Nismo laps the Nürburgring in 7:08

Do you remember the recent spy videos of the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo lapping the Nürburgring? Everyone expected it to be a remarkable supercar and without any disappointment today we find out that actually, it is! The extreme version tuned by Nismo produces 600hp and 652nm out the 3.8L V6 biturbo engine, but probably the information that amaze us more is the incredible lap time of 7 minutes and 8 seconds at the Nürburgring!

Yet another terrible crash at Nürburgring

The long awaited summer weather has brought a lot of petrolheads in the last days for a blast at the infamous Nürburgring, and unfortunately several videos of accidents have been uploaded to YouTube. Yesterday you may remember the accident of a rental Toyota GT-86, today's video might shock you since a spectator has caught on camera a frightening accident of an Honda Civic at Fuchsröhre. The car loses the rear at around 160km/h and smashes roughly multiple times against the barriers.

Driving at Nürburgring with a rental car might be very risky not just because it's a tricky racetrack, but also because if you crash, you have to pay a lot of money to the company. This rental Toyota GT-86 has definitely seen better days on this track, since this customer arrives too fast and crashes into the barriers at Brünnchen, a very well known corner if you suffer understeer.

Lucky Ferrari 458 Nearly Crashes

Driving a supercar at Nürburgring is not easy, and if the weather is not optimal, you'd better think twice what you're doing! This Ferrari 458 Italia caught on a rainy day loses the rear at Brünnchen corner, it spins out and nearly crashes into the barriers, but hopefully the italian supercar remains on the tarmac of the track.

Don't mess with the Carrera GT!

A legendary Porsche meeting the fastest 911 ever at Nürburgring means just one thing.. race! The Porsche Carrera GT is still one of the best Porsches ever made and has similar numbers, compared to the Porsche 911 GT2 RS (612hp the V10 of the GT, 620hp the flat-six of the RS), they have something else in common, they're two difficult cars to drive, the GT is a real beast to tame!

Start to see the video from minute 27:00, that's where the GT meets the RS and the battle begins, until the driver of the GT2 RS reaches his limits and spins out, but with a huge luck he doesn't crashes into the barriers which happens most of the times if you crash at the Green Hell since the guard rail is just a meter far from the tarmac of the track.

And the lesson of today is: don't ever try to keep up a Carrera GT, just turn down the window and enjoy that heck of a V10 sound!

MC12 Corsa and Enzo ZXX at Nürburgring

Every day you can see nice cars at the Nürburgring because the track activity is costant, in certain days you can see truly epic machines such as an orange Maserati MC12 Corsa and a yellow Ferrari Enzo ZXX, both tuned by EDO Competition. Just to add even more epicness, the Ferrari was driven by Sabine Schmitz in person! Enjoy the clip of these two extreme machines lapping the Green Hell.

If you don't know that, it's not a mistake, that's not an FXX but a road legal Enzo tuned up to 840hp, mean while the MC12 produces 755hp.

Nissan GT-R does 7.30m at Nürburgring

The Nürburgring is one of the most challenging racetracks in the world, driving to the limit is very dangerous and a full lap in 7:30 minutes is an absolutely great lap time, and doing it during a public trackday event with other cars driving is just incredible! This quick lap has been done with a completely stock 2012 Nissan GT-R, just sit and enjoy 20.8km of speed!

Nürburgring closed for a graffiti

During a trackday or a Touristenfahrten event at Nürburgring, the track gets closed just in case of a brutal accident. This time they have done an exception to the rule because of a... penis. As you might know, all around the track there are graffitis and phrases on the tarmac of the german track, but this time someone has painted something that hasn't been loved so much by the marshals. The result is the track closed for several hours and the crew working to remove the graffiti. There's something sure, the author is certainly a dick.

Brutal BMW crash at Nurburgring

The trackday season at Nürburgring has started but the weather is still not good. The road surface is cold, the grip is low and the on both sides of the road there's still snow. A YouTuber has caught on camera at Brünnchen (a very tricky corner) the rough crash of a BMW 335i, with too much understeer the car goes on the snow and crashes at high speed into the barriers, under the snow there was the gravel that supposed to slow down the car in case of accident, but these conditions have turned even worse the collision.

Skyline Drift FAIL

The Nürburgring trackdays are officially back in this season, but the weather is still bad for driving on track and with the icy and snowy roads around the Green Hell is not hard to find somebody trying to have fun. Bad luck for this Nissan Skyline attempting a drift (he certainly wanted to show off for the crowd) but it collides and smashes the front bumper in the roundabout.

The quickest crash at Nürburgring

As you know, the Nürburgring is known also as the Green Hell, and with this nickname you can really understand how challenging and dangerous this track is.YouTube is plenty of videos about people overtaking their limits by trying to improve their lap times, often with a very negative result, but the video of today is totally silly as it might show the world's quickest crash in this track. And by quickest I don't mean an high speed crash, but a crash taking place just after 7 (yes, SEVEN) seconds on track.

Civic Type-R huge crash

The video was uploaded to YouTube the 5th January, and this might be one of the very first accidents of 2013 taking place at Nürburgring. It's a frightening accident of an Honda Civic Type-R that around 120kph goes wide and loses the control of the rear on the grass at the beginning of Adenauer Forst, and roughly crashes into the barriers of the track.

Edit: apparently, the video I have found, is a reupload from 2010, so this is not a recent crash.

A year of accidents at Nürburgring

The infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife has the reputation of being the most dangerous and challenging racetrack in the world. There's an high frequency of accidents on this track, and unfortunately, every year several fatal accidents occur. The following video is a compilation of the highlights of all the accidents that a german Nürburgring fanatic has caught on his camera, during the many Touristenfahrten events or race series such as VLN and RCN that he has attended in 2012.
