GT-R Nismo laps the Nürburgring in 7:08

Do you remember the recent spy videos of the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo lapping the Nürburgring? Everyone expected it to be a remarkable supercar and without any disappointment today we find out that actually, it is! The extreme version tuned by Nismo produces 600hp and 652nm out the 3.8L V6 biturbo engine, but probably the information that amaze us more is the incredible lap time of 7 minutes and 8 seconds at the Nürburgring!

Mazda 787B: rotary epicness from the past

The sound of a rotary engine is just unique, deafening and special, it's something impossible to replicate with a pistons engine. If you are a Le Mans enthusiast you might have already seen this clip, but I know that you won't resist to see it again, an onboard lap in the 1991 Le Mans winner Mazda 787B is just pure pornography and your ears won't stop to say thanks.

Nissan GT-R does 7.30m at Nürburgring

The Nürburgring is one of the most challenging racetracks in the world, driving to the limit is very dangerous and a full lap in 7:30 minutes is an absolutely great lap time, and doing it during a public trackday event with other cars driving is just incredible! This quick lap has been done with a completely stock 2012 Nissan GT-R, just sit and enjoy 20.8km of speed!

What a lap! The Huayra at Top Gear!

Just like a kid in a Christmas morning, most of the petrolheads (including me) had a similar reaction to the long waited arrival of Top Gear's 19th season, HAPPINESS. To start the season in a great style, Hammond has reviewed the Pagani Huayra, the latest creation of Mr.Pagani. No wonder Hamster loves it, he has always been a huge fan of Pagani and this car had to be tested by him. To show the maximum potentiality of the italian hypercar, Stig took the drive and set a lap time of 1.13.8, which is not just a fast lap, but the fastest lap of a road production car on the Top Gear test track! The Huayra has been faster even than the track-monster Ariel Atom V8 and the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport WRE, is it enough to prove that the Huayra is damn quick?

A new record at Nürburgring

The power of lightness. Light cars with a good amount of power are little rockets on wheels that can compete with the most expensive and fast supercars, thanks to the favorable power/weight ratio, a few examples are the Ariel Atom and the Lotus Exige. There's a new car in the market that has set a remarkable lap time around Nürburgring, point of reference for the automotive factories from all around the world. The little Formula Ford, moved with a tiny turbocharged 3cyl engine with 205hp has set a very fast lap time of 7 minutes and 22 seconds, making it alot faster than supercars (and even hypercars!) such as the Ferrari Enzo, Nissan GT-R or the Porsche 997 GT2 RS.

Grand Cherokee SRT8 on the 'Ring

Sabine Schmitz, the queen of the Nürburgring sets a lap time of 8 minutes and 49 seconds with the massive Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8, not really a track use car, but this racetrack is a point of reference for the automotive fatories of all the world. Thisis the second SUV to attempt a lap time on the Green Hell, the first one was the 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged with a lap time of 8 minutes and 55 seconds. The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has a 6.4L Hemi V8 engine that produces 465hp, it goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, 0-100-0 mph in about 16 seconds, covers the quarter mile in the mid-13 second range, has a top speed of around 155 mph, and brakes from 60-0 mph in 116 feet.
