BMW M5 Racing on public streets

Reckless driving, racing and tail gating at high speed. Yes, here we go with another bunch of idiots doing some stupid things on public streets.. The video is set in the brazilian highway and shows from the inside of a BMW M5 a group of people speeding and exceeding 300kph with their sport cars. The driving style of these people is very dangerous and posting their stunts as well as their faces and plates on YouTube is not really a clever idea, isn't it?

    1. They use paddle sequencial-shifters semi-manual or semi-automatic, its faster than pure manual and more reliable than automatic... but they are stupid idiots anyway...

  4. So comrades, here in Brazil, this highway is very used to this kind of recklessness, she is here in São Paulo. I think it's wrong what he is doing, but has no other more "appropriate" place to enjoy your V10. There's another video of him, the guy's F430, almost touching the back of his M5, idiotic, who can take his life by a joke in bad taste...

  7. He knows nothing about driving. These "stunts" are for grannys and pussys who can´t be fast around a race track. Everyone can drive on a straight line or higway.

  8. Even if there is no track around there, he should not pull off such things on a busy highway. do it at night when the roads are empty so the only person at the risk of death is this idiot.

  9. Fucking idiots.

  10. Like Dominic Toretto said in F&F 5, "this is Brazil!". Here the politicians sell our tracks to make private houses and buildings, to make money for their own. And the only place that lasts to race is the highway. Don't u believe me? Search for Jacarepagua track, in Rio.. "Autódromo internacional Nelson piquet". And Look for the new one thats in Deodoro, an old military base that has mines on the ground!

  12. I love how everybody is so hypocritical about the subject. Yes, this is a bit on the excessive side of reckless driving. Yes, from a social perspective it may unacceptable. But the crazy thing is that should most common human beings be given the chance to own or drive cars like these, most likely they will do the same or even worse. I know there are some people who won´t, but given the chance most will. I mean everybody is so quick to judge reckless driving on an expensive car, but no body even glances an eye over the million idiot driver who have no idea of what they are doing. Speed does not kill, lack of skills do. If you are coming on the left lane top speed and an idiot throws its 1.0 or 1. something machine in front of you that is as wrong as it gets, but the guy above the speed limit is the idiot. Go tell that to the Germans and their autobahns. Sick and tired of everybody judging.

  14. About not being a clever ideia showing their faces at the videos, I'm brazilian and according to our constitution you can not make proves about yourself, so this videos can't be used as a prove against him; and I think racing on the streets is not a clever idea, I believe that if you want to go fast, go to a racetrack, just like he does at the end of the video.

  15. It may be reckless, especially with all the traffic, but it sure is fun. You don't get too far on American highways doing this as there are cops every couple miles that ruin your fun. I stick to the county roads on days and times less traveled.

  16. Thats the only way to drive such type of machinery, not like in the states when I was living there with such fine highways and driving a brand new Jaguar XKE in 1969 and with a stupid speed limit of 70 mph day and 65 night. All the American enthusiast that can afford it usually fly to Germany and rent Porsches BMW etc just to fly down the Authobhan.

  18. Live life drive your cars with passion!!! For the idiot who said the M5 is trash. Well all I have to say is. Your an idiot! That car has one of the best formula 1 inspired production engines/transmissions ever. I've owned an Smg M6, it was faster and more capable then my current AMG and Maserati.

  19. By no means i'm trying to justify the reckless behavior. Although i have some observations. We all know this kind of shit happens everywhere, it's easy to blame brazilians and call them idiots when street racing happens everywhere in the planet. As previosuly stated, in the German Autobahn 150mph+ is fine, in the rest of the world, NOPE, you're all idiots. Im pretty sure Germans are more educated and skilled drivers and aware of the risks of speeding, still worth the comparison. I think some sort of speeding may be tolerated, but the subject ain't easy to debate, as former racer said (don't remember who), speed won't kill you, suddenly becoming stationary will. If a driver want's to exceed the stated speed, he has to know the risks and have great amount of skills, responsibility AND RESPECT FELLOW DRIVERS. This guy in video isn't the best driver out there but you can tell to some degree he *knows* what he's doing. For those who seen the full video noticed he's experienced with track days and track races. What about the millions of disrespectful, ignorant, unskilled drivers respecting the speed limit and causing tons of deaths? What about drunk drivers in speed limit? As everything in life we should understand the middle path, don't know the readers education and opinion on the topic but honestly, who never broke the speed limit? Also i've seen the video again considering your arguments, but really, the guy really slows down in crowded places and gives a good amount of space to fellow drivers. I would say speeding is dangerous, what he did is dangerous, but he was by no means "close to hurting other people". I still go with: Better a really skilled driver at high speeds, than a terrible one in the speed limit.
To finish: Again, this is not a valid justificative to his high speed, but in Brazil you have almost no option to race safely in a track. Just clarifying a little on the guys enviroment. Also Marco, im your fan and love your videos and blog, but it's really weird you calling this man a idiot while you clap hands to the guy speeding as hell on the Veyron.

    My 2 cents.

    1. I always read everyone's comments to hear the different opinions. You're absolutely right but to me all the guys in this video are idiots because they are waving, racing and tail gating at high speed in the traffic which means that they put at risk someone else's lives. You can be experienced but even the most talented driver can make mistakes (the racing driver in the Porsche CGT in which P.Walker was passenger is just a recent example); the worse can happen in any moment, there's always a risk if you do this in the traffic. What if, the random driver in front of you doesn't see you and you crash into him because he's overtaking someone while you're trying do to the same? That's just an example.

Talking about Germany, there are no speed limits on most parts of the Autobahn, but you will never see a scene like this, in Germany people go fast when it's allowed but they use also their brain and this is probably the reason why there's a low rate of accidents although you can go fast as much as you can.

Talking about the Veyron video, I haven't criticized the driver although he's driving fast, but honestly in the whole video I haven't seen any reckless behaviour from him to the other drivers.
